Annual May Meeting 2018

The Annual Meeting of St Clement Parish Council will take place on Wednesday 30th May at 7.30pm at the Parish Hall in St Clement village. The meeting is open to members of the public. A period of up to 15 minutes will be allowed at the start of the meeting for comments or questions from electors of the parish about any item on the published agenda. After this period, there is no public right to speak, but you are welcome to stay for all or part of the meeting and to leave quietly at any point.

November 2017 Meetings

The November meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Wednesday 29th November at 7.30pm at the Parish Hall in St Clement village. At the start of the meeting there will be time (not exceeding 20 minutes, limited to 3 minutes per speaker) allowed for local residents to make comments or ask questions about any item on the published agenda. There is no public right to speak once the meeting proper has started, but anyone is welcome to stay and observe. Minutes of the meeting will be published on this page.

Is your relative on St Clement War Memorial?

You may have read in the West Briton about a suggestion that the Parish War Memorial by Julian Foye should be moved to somewhere more accessible for people wishing to pay their respects.  What do you think? Please tell us.

The Parish Council would particularly like to know what the families of those who are commemorated on the memorial think about the idea. Is one of your relatives listed here? If so, please do get in touch with our Clerk.

Private William FORD Born 1899. Captured in France, died as a POW on 24 October 1918. Son of William and Elizabeth Ford of Little Polwhele, St Clement.

Sergeant Herbert HAYES Born 1895, died 7 July 1917. son of Lewis and Alice Hayes of Bar Cottage, Malpas.

Private Edward MARTIN Born 1899, killed in action 25 September 1915. Son of J Martin of Malpas.

Lance Corporal William WALLIS Born 1894, died 14 June 1916. Son of AH Wallis of Buckshead, St Clement.

Private Percy Gluyas TRELOAR Born 1892, died 29 September 1916. Son of Thomas and Janie N Treloar of Sea View, Treskillard, Redruth.

Lieutenant Colonel Trevor CARUS-WILSON Born 1870, died of wounds, 27 March 1918. Son of Edward Shippard and Ellen Anne (Nee Willyams) Carus-Wilson of Penmount. Spouse, Dorothy Sellina (Nee Carter) Carus-Wilson.

No waiting list for Tresillian Allotments!

There are still a small number of vacancies on the Parish Council’s new allotment site in Tresillian. Most of the plots are 5m x 10m and cost £35.50 a year to rent. There is parking and water on site, and a communal shed.

Allotments are provided to enable local residents to grow fresh food for themselves, while getting fresh air and exercise in the company of friendly, fellow gardening enthusiasts.

The site is managed by the Parish Council with the help of the Tresillian Allotment Association.

If you live in postcode areas TR1, TR2 or TR4, you may be eligible to apply. Contact the Clerk for further details.

October 2017 meeting

There is a public participation session at the start of the meeting to enable residents to comment or ask questions about any item on the published agenda. Once the meeting proper has started, members of the public are welcome to stay and observe or to leave quietly at any time. the agenda and minutes will appear below when published.

August 2017 Meeting

The August meeting of St Clement Parish Council has been postponed until Wednesday 6th September because of unforeseen circumstances. The meeting will take place at 7.30pm at the Parish Hall in St Clement Village. There is a public participation session for local electors at the very start of the meeting. Anyone is welcome to stay and observe the meeting proper, although there is no public right to speak once the meeting has started.
